Chairman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Drinking Water, Gul Sahib Khan Khattak has directed the early revival of the solar system of the tube-wells and its immediate completion of work wherever it is not installed. He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting of the standing committee, which beside, MPAs Yasin Khan Khalil and Azam Khan Durrani was also attended by Secretary Public Health Engineering Department, Naeemuddin and others.
The meeting discussed waster supply schemes and solarization of tube-wells and other problems in detail. He said that contractors which are working on these schemes should complete work on them as soon as possible to minimize the hardships of the people. He also directed the repairing of all non-operational tube-wells to re-open them for the provision of water to the people. Briefing the standing committee, the Secretary Public Health Engineering Department told that construction work on most of the tube-wells had been completed and the samples of the water had also been sent to laboratory and after the arrival of their report, they will be opened for the public The meeting was also told that so far the department has recovered an amount of only Rs 3.5 million in different periods. The chairman standing committee appreciated the performance of the concerned officers.
