Interior Minister Prof Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said that India has shown cowardice by attacking the innocent civil population living in the areas along the Working Boundary. Talking to the media after inquiring about the health of injured persons in Indian unprovoked firing at CMH Sialkot, he strongly condemned the shelling and frequent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
The aggression was an attempt to divert the global attention from highhandedness and killing the innocent Kashmiris struggling for the liberation of their motherland from Indian yoke. Later, federal interior and law ministers visited the sector affected area by the cross-border shelling of Indian forces.
On this occasion, Punjab Rangers director general Maj-Gen Azhar Naveed Hayat briefed the federal ministers about Indian shelling in which six people embraced Shahadat while 30 others sustained serious injuries.
The interior minister urged upon the peace loving nations to take notice of Indian brutalities in held Kashmir and use their influence for liberation of held-Kashmir. Pakistan will continue its moral and diplomatic support for Kashmiris deprived of their right to self-determination, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid said a proposal for construction of 50 bunkers along the Working Boundary and other precautionary measures would ensure safety of the people living in the border areas.
