Pasban-e-Pakistan president Altaf Shakoor on Sunday called for revolutionary change in the prevailing political system stressing that a loyal leadership was needed to ensure fundamental rights to the people of the country. "Pasban will participate in the Elections 2018 and provide the a brave and patriotic leadership to the nation," he said addressing his party's workers convention at the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
He said his party would ensure sense of protection among masses besides ensuring the basic rights including education and healthcare facilities to the people. He said that nobody would dare extorting money from the citizens. "We shall not allow monopoly of a few elite families on the national politics," he said, adding that every ruler looted Pakistan and Pakistanis for his vested interests. He said they had made politics a lucrative business, where chosen politicians were given free hand to exploit the masses.
He also rejected results of recent census saying that entire process was hijacked by some employees from grade 2 to 22. He said justice was not done to Karachi as the results of the census didn't reflect the facts regarding population of this metropolis. He urged the government to formulate a joint investigation team (JIT) against them.
Altaf Shakoor also urged the provincial government to empower the Karachi Mayor and provide him resources, powers and reasonable budgetary allocations so that he could run the city affairs, smoothly. "Those who are playing ethnic Muhajir or Sindhi cards are actually the first cousins of each others. Their dirty politics will not last after Pasban comes to power," he vowed. Pasban's general secretary Usman Moazzam, senior vice president Tariq Chandi Wala, president Karachi Chapter Abdul Hakim Quaid, general secretary Sarwar Zulfiqar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
