Action directed against transporters using substandard CNG kits

Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Muhammad Usman Tanvir has directed the concerned officers of Road Transport Authority, Traffic Police and others to launch campaign against those transporters who are running substandard or faulty fitted CNG kits in public transport vehicles and such vehicles would also be impounded with heavy fine.
He also strictly directed to the owners of the CNG stations that they should not supply CNG to such substandard CNG fitted Public transport vehicles otherwise stern action would be taken against them so that CNG-related accidents would be controlled.
This he said while chairing a meeting on the behalf of the Deputy Commissioner regarding the use of substandard CNG kits in Public Transport Vehicles & other public transport related issues at Darbar Hall DC Office Thatta here Monday.
He directed for strict measures against at risk obsolete model public vehicles and also against those that are being run on faulty gas cylinders or sub-standard CNG kits. He further said that public life could not be put at risk under any pretext, hence strict action would continue to be taken against public transport vehicles found using faulty CNG kits.
He ordered the concerned Assistant Commissioners, DSP Traffic Police and other relevant officers to perform snap checks for the substandard fitted CNG kits and unfit public transports vehicles along with RTA staffers across the district. All the Assistant Commissioners, Officers of Road Transport Authority, Traffic Police, Mukhtiarkars & Owners of the CNG Stations and Transporters attended the meeting.
