Khattak directs CS to help resolve issues of disputed land

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak directed the Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan to find a solution to the claims of people of the Chamba, Jarma and Kundiali and other disputed land in district Kohat. The Chief Secretary would submit recommendations to the Chief Minister for a final decision after listening to the claims and counter claims about the disputed lands.
He was presiding over a meeting to find out a solution to the disputed land in Chamba, Jarma and Kundiali of district Kohat at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. Provincial Minister for law Imtiaz Querashi, MNA Shehryar Afridi, Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Deputy Commissioner Kohat and others attended.
The Chief Minister said he was keen to find a durable solution to all the disputed lands and Shamilat throughout the province in order to bring to an end the prolonged litigation and administrative complications. The Solution to be find out should be acceptable both the government and people adding that the computerization of land record would automatically resolve these complications.
The Chief Minister said that if these issues stayed unresolved, it would create law in order situation and unnecessary disputes and litigations. The government wanted a reasonable approach to resolve these problems once for all.
The high level committee to be headed by the Chief Secretary would meticulously go through the disputed problem of land and would submit recommendations for a final decision at the relevant forum. The Chief Minister said that the land should not into the hand, of land grabbers and land mafias but to those who had a right therefore the decision in this regard should be carefully taken, he added.
