12 Oct, 2017

President Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has sought assistance of top lawyers of the country to expose Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's alleged corruption in 15 years liquefied natural gas agreement with Qatar. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that the LNG contract is 'mother of all thefts' and bigger than Hudaibiya Paper Mills scam.
He said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has a two-week deadline to appoint a fresh finance minister as Ishaq Dar is facing corruption charges in accountability courts, adding that International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not accept a finance minister that has accusations of money laundering. He said that economic prospects are bleak unless corrupt leaders are forced to step down, adding that the Army is obliged under Article 190 to stand behind the judiciary.
He further said that he will be presenting record of incumbent government's Rs 200 billion corruption in the National Assembly. Criticizing the disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he said that Pakistan is facing severe financial crisis for which PML-N is responsible. He also submitted documents related to LNG contract in Speaker National Assembly's office.
