The Met Office on Wednesday asked growers to remove weeds from standing crops manually or herbicides sprays to help yield grow. It warned the farmers of a considerable yield loss from weeds growth, saying that growers should evolve plans to irrigate crops since a spell of a dry weather is expected to prevail until Oct 20.
Daytime temperature is expected to remain slightly normal in the most parts of the country but will be below normal in the most of the agricultural plains in night. Wind pattern is expected to remain normal in the most of agricultural plains of the country with a possibility of dust/sand storms in Southern Punjab and Upper Sindh over the period. Dry weather is likely to grip Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan while light rain may fall in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weather in Kashmir is expected to remain pleasant.
