He said this during his meeting with the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse and his delegation in Islamabad.
President Zardari said that currency swap agreement between the two countries would facilitate business houses in both countries and would enhance trade.
Talking to the media, Presidential Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said trade, commercial ties between the two countries and regional and international issues were discussed in the meeting.
Zardari urged business communities including chambers of commerce of both countries to enhance business ties in various fields and sectors finance and banking, science and technology, defence, agriculture tourism, gems and jewelry.
In his response, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse said, Pakistan has great importance for Sri Lanka, and added, bilateral trade and commercial ties should be enhanced further between two countries.
