Online 'Heart code basic life support course' begins

The first online 'Heart Code Basic Life Support course' has begun here at the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). The course has been arranged in collaboration with American Heart Association. As many as 30 under training supervisors and doctors are getting training at CPSP Karachi and Lahore respectively.
Prof. Abrar Ashraf Ali, Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja, Dr. Ahmad Uzair Qureshi, Dr. Ahsan Masood, Dr. Muhammad Umar and Dr. Aqeela Rashid imparted training to the under training supervisors and doctors of this international heart code basic life support course.
In this course, the trainee doctors were given training of CPR and ECC according to the newly issued guidelines of American Heart Association. Addressing the inaugural ceremony Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Director General International Relations said that this course is useful in minimizing the death rate occurs due to accidents and heart attacks in Pakistan. This course aims to provide immediate first aid medical treatment to save the life of a patient, he said. Apart from doctors, the course will also be organized for nurses and paramedical staff.
