Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the meeting of cabinet committee on law and order through video link on Friday. During the meeting, different steps aimed at protection of life and property of the people as well as general situation of law and order in the province came under discussion.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has firm belief in the faith of finality of Prophethood (PBUH). The federal government has restored the oath-statement of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat to its original shape and a committee was also constituted by the PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to conduct immediate investigation, he said.
He said that firm belief in Khatm-e-Nubuwwat is part of our Imaan. He directed the concerned officials of cabinet committee on law and order, commissioners, RPOs, DCs and DPOs to remain in the field to personally supervise the steps taken for maintaining law and order.
He said that steps should be adopted with mutual consultation and they should act in a wise, sane and tolerant manner to maintain law and order and no step should be adopted which can make the situation tense. He said that all the matters should be settled amicably.
He said that Pakistan belongs to all of us and we shall take everybody along to maintain peace in the country. The ACS (Home) gave a briefing about the law & order situation. Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Ayub Gadhi and Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Advisor Rana Maqbool, Chief Secretary, ACS (Home), IG Police and high officials attended the meeting from Civil Secretariat through video link while commissioners and RPOs participated in the meeting from their respective divisional quarters through video link.
