The General Secretariat of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) has the pleasure of celebrating the World Standards Day which has been celebrated since 1970 on every October 14th to raise awareness of the importance of standardization to the world economy. The World Standards Day promotes the role of standardization in helping meet the needs of business, industry, government, and consumers worldwide and is also considered as a tribute to the efforts of all persons take role in standardization activities.
Having in mind the importance of this day, SMIIC, with the technical contribution of its members to its standardization activities in compliance with the global standards producing process, by the grace of Allah, will always show the effort towards being one of the pioneering standards organization in the world in issuing standards that meet the needs of the OIC Member States and interested parties. We would like to thank all who have contributed in all works towards development of standards. The Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) has said "The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." To those who are committed and dedicated his/her expertise and knowledge to standardization activities: Happy Standards Day!
