Activities at Karachi and Qasim Ports

The Karachi Port handled 298,071 tonnes of cargo comprising 229,700 tonnes of import cargo and 68,371 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 229,700 tonnes comprised of 61,673 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,585 tonnes of general cargo; 61,391 tonnes of bulk cargo: 30,223 tonnes of coal; 6,540 tonnes of seeds; 18,749 tonnes of fertilizer; 5,879 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 95,051 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 68,371 tonnes comprised of 46,131 tonnes of containerised cargo; 428 tonnes of general cargo; 10,262 tonnes of bulk cargo: 5,692 tonnes of urea; 4,572 tonnes of urea form powder and 11,550 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
There were fourteen ships namely CMA CGM Narmada, Hansa Offenburg, X-Press Makalu, Al Farahidi, Prosper, Libra, MT Quetta, Chemroad Polarih, Thurgau, Dorado Leader, Bulk Polaris, Asian Champion, Dorado Leader, Han Ren and Chang Hang Ze Hai carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicle, seeds and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were thirteen vessels viz. Prosper, Libra, Hansa Offenburg, ALS Apollo, X-Press Malalu, Yu Hua Star, Polar Unicorn, Corona, Triton Seahawk, Bulk Polaris, Patara, Dorado Leader and Han Ren carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, vehicles and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely X-Press Malalu, Corona and Patara carrying containers, oil tanker and vehicles respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday.
There were nine vessels Piraeus, OOCL America, Northern Dependant, MT Karachi, Maria, Mid Fortune, Scirocco, Sea Princess and Liberty Promise carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, carbon black and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Monday while six vessels viz. Ever Diamond, Tolten, Bolero, Grand Choise, Apex and ER Maden carrying containers, steel, vehicle and generak cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The total export cargo of 38,399 tonnes includes 38,399 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,551 containers comprising of 234 containers import and 2,021 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely CV APL Hawall and MV Mid Fortune carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely CV Nicoline Maersk carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Nicoline Maersk, CV APL Hawall, MV Bulk polaris, MV Sinar Kutal, MV Nicosia Pegasus, MT Mid Forthne, MT Doe Won, MT Brizo and MT CTG Bismuth currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rapeseeds, coal, chemical, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen ships namely CV MSC Aysa, CV Mediterranean Bridge, MV W Pacific, MV Koo Yang Singapore, MV Wade-Al-Bustan, MV Dracon Ocean, MV Yasailhan, MV Ocean Prefect, MT Black Pearl, MT Totonno Bottiglieri, MT Lion-M, MT Mezaira, MT Margarita, MT Glorious and MT Yukon Star carrying containers, soyabean seeds, sand, coke, coal, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Aysa, CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV X-Press Malaku, MV Koo Yang Singapore and MV Ocean Prefect carrying containers, sand and coal expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Monday.
There were five ships namely CV X-Press Makalu, CV Maersk Memphis, CV CMA CGM Maupassant, CV GH Cheinook and MT Gaslog Greece carrying containers and LNG respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are two ships namely CV APL Miami and MV Warisa Naree carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
