Punjab Assembly retains subsidy on fertilizer, upgrades government Employees

The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed resolutions on retaining subsidy on fertilizer, upgradation of government employees of Grade 5 to 15 and Grade 16 to 17 and that rice export targets should be given to Pakistani diplomats in foreign countries to increase its export.
The Opposition staged a token boycott against the behavior of Punjab police. Opposition and treasury benches condemned Law Minister Rana Sanaullah's statement on Qadianis. But Rana Sanaullah said on the floor of the House that the issue of Qadianis' has been solved declaring that they are non-Muslims and they have nothing to do with Islam.
Questions and answers regarding departments of Auqaf, religious affairs and irrigation were part of the agenda. Parliamentary Secretary Auqaf Saqlian Sipra gave answers of questions relating to the Auqaf department while the speaker deferred the questions regarding irrigation department till Friday due to the unavailability of the minister in the House.
The session of the Assembly started 1 hour 5 minutes late under the chair of Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal. During the question hour, PTI MPA Rahila Anwar said it is easy to grab the land of Auqaf as the people belonging to the PML-N were involved in it.
While responding to this, the Parliamentary Secretary said that the honourable member should talk about it only if she has some proof regarding encroachment of Auqaf land. Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed while expressing his views on a point of order alleged that the government had failed to solve the problems of farmers and that was why they were protesting on roads.
He also alleged that the Kissan Package was mere an eye wash as it was an election stunt and propaganda. PML-N MPA Sabtain Raza alleged that farmers were protesting because they were not getting payment from the mills of PTI MNA Jahangir Khan Tareen.
