Islamabad police (IP)on Friday conducted search operation in the proximity of Kohsar and Nilore police stations and arrested four suspects besides recovering weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said. The officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Kohsar including Gogina, Nilore and Dharkala.
Under supervision of Superintendents of Police Zubair Sheikh and Dr Syed Tanveer Mustafa, police commandos, lady commandos and Bomb Disposal squad personnel participated in the search operation, said a press release. The search teams screened 95 houses, snap-checked 175 persons and arrested four suspects besides recovering two 12 bore rifles and two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that the purpose of this search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city. He further directed all SHOs to carry out such operations on regular basis. He has also appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case they notice any suspicious activity around them.-PR
