Draft bill: government told to incorporate amendments proposed by opposition

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development on Tuesday directed the government to incorporate amendments proposed by opposition members through 'Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2017' to the draft bill that it was contemplating on the same lines.
The meeting of the committee was held here under the chairmanship of MNA, Mir Aamir Ali Khan Magsi, discussed the draft bill moved by Dr Shazia Sobia in detail. But the committee was informed that the government was also contemplating upon introducing a bill on the proposed legislation.
Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju assured the mover of the bill that the government would incorporate her proposed amendments in its bill that is being drafted.
The committee members expressed displeasure over the agreement made between the administrations of OPF Housing Society and Gulberg Greens for giving approach to the OPF Housing Society. Despite transfer of 500 kanal of land to Gulberg Greens, the approach has not been given to the OPF, the committee members were informed.
The committee directed the ministry to take local administration onboard to resolve the matter and report it to the committee at the earliest. The committee members were informed that 395 kanal of land of OPF Housing Society is in possession of illegal occupants in the area, and a case pertaining to it was pending adjudication in the court. The committee directed the administration of the OPF to pursue the litigation diligently and also try to make out of court settlement.
