Two bills presented in Punjab Assembly

The Sikh Marriage Bill 2017 and Punjab Regulation of Public Infrastructure Bill 2017 were presented in the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday. The Punjab Assembly passed resolutions for proper legislation of annual medical check-up of both girls and boys studying in government schools of Punjab and also passed a resolution to start a crackdown against exorcists and put a ban on advertisement of their businesses after legislation against such people.
The session of the Punjab assembly started two hours late under the chair of Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal. The Sikh Marriage Bill (Punjab Anand Karaj Bill 2017) was presented by Ramesh Sigh Arora and The Punjab Regulation of Public Infrastructure Bill 2017 was presented by Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid. Opposition walked out from the assembly after they were not allowed to present Provincial Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill 2017. The speaker adjourned presentation of the bill till next week.
Answers of the questions relating to the forest department and Planning & Development Board were given by Parliamentary Secretary Mian Fida Hussain and provincial minister Nadeem Kamran. During the question hour, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani said that according to the ruling of Supreme Court land of forests cannot be allotted to anybody. He said forest land cannot be even allocated to farmers then according to which law the land was allotted to police stations, schools and other government departments.
PML-N MPA Uzma Zahid Bukhari while speaking on a point of order said that nobody appeared before the committee investigating the charges of MNA Ayesha Gulalai against PTI Chairman Imran Khan. She said incidents of women harassment were increasing day by day. The Election Commission of Pakistan has given a verdict in favor of Ayesha Gulalai, she added. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani adjourned the session till 10 am on Wednesday.
