Feud between Qureshi brothers again comes to limelight

The feud between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his brother Mureed Hussain Qureshi once again came to fore on the occasion of Urs celebrations of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani here on Thursday. As per details, Makhdoom Mureed Hussain Qureshi reached the Mazar of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakria and tried to perform the ritual of washing the Mazar.
When a devotee tried to retrain him, Mureed not only used abusive language but also slapped him on his face. Television footage showed Murid Hussain repeatedly slapping a man. He then went to Zakria Conference which was being held at the premises of the Mazar. He went straight to the stage and snatched mike from his brother and custodian of the Dargah Shah Mahmood Qureshi. He then spoke to the devotees over the loudspeaker from the stage and leveled serious allegation against Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
He blamed Qureshi for seven murders. Mureed said that whenever he had sought his shares in the properties he was given a body. He accused Qureshi of selling the prestige and honor of their elders and Mazar for his political mileage. Mureed further accused Qureshi of grabbing lands and patronizing dacoits and hired assassins. On the occasion, MNA Amir Dogar persuaded Mureed to stop the tirade against the custodian of the shrine and sit.
