Saarc Law President calls on Sipra

President SAARC LAW, Mehmood Y Mandviwalla, a prominent lawyer of Pakistan, called on Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr Sarfraz Ahmed Khan Sipra, on Thursday at the High Commission. Mandviwalla briefed Dr Sipra about the 25th Anniversary of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation in Law and invited him to attend the 14th SAARC LAW and 11th SAARC Chief Justices Conference to be held in Colombo.
The Acting High Commissioner accepted the invitation with gratitude and briefed Mandviwalla about the overall cordial and friendly bilateral relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Dr Sipra stated that it is a matter of honour and pleasure for us that the ongoing conference is being held under the stewardship of a prominent Pakistani lawyer.
According to Pakistan High Commission in Colombo, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa of Supreme Court of Pakistan are also coming to Sri Lanka to participate in SAARC Law Conference and 25th Anniversary celebrations of its foundation.
The SAARC LAW was established in Colombo on 24th October 1991, with 175 members of the legal community including judges, legal practitioners and academics of SAARC countries. In July 1994, SAARC LAW was accorded the status of a recognized Regional Apex Body of SAARC.
