Walk held to create awareness about hazards of smog

Under the joint arrangements of district administration and District Health Authority an awareness walk was held for citizens regarding adopt all precautionary measures during the thick blanket of fog or rather smog. State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari and Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani led the walk. DHO Dr Asfand Yar, Dr Bilal Ahmad, Lady Health Workers, citizens were also participated the walk. The awareness walk started from District Council Chowk and culminated at Kacheri Bazar Chowk.
The participants of walk carrying banners and placards inscribed of adopting precautionary measures during the smog. State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari stressed upon the citizens to adopt all precautionary measures during the thick blanket of fog or rather smog and use face masks while traveling especially on motorcycle.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani said to the general public and motorcyclists to cover their nose and mouth and worn protective glasses and helmet so they could safe from eye infection, itchy skin, headache and other disease. He said although the effects of smog are not much harmful but people should care their health.
DC said district govt. had arranged special care arrangements in hospitals for treatment of smog infected people. He said that the health of people is the utmost preference of district govt and all out resources for awareness of public has been utilized during smog days.
Dr Bilal said to the people to use tissue while sneezing, coughing and do not touch the eyes, mouth and nose with dirty hands and cleaned yours hands every time during the air polluted days.
