30 Oct, 2017

Advisor to Prime Minister, Engr Amir Muqam said on Sunday that merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the constitutional right of tribal people. While talking to the media here, he said that PML-N also wanted to merge Fata with KP, adding that false rumours were being spread that the party was against merger.
He said that no one can divide the Patkhuns and vowed that his party would struggle for the giving the tribal people their due rights that would remove their prevailing sense of deprivation. He said that he has been defending the case of Fata without any vested interests on every platform. "I support Fata's merger with KP and will raise voice in Parliament and elsewhere," he said.
He said that he was standing firm on his point of view but what Maulana Fazlur Rahman wanted was his stance. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that FATA will be merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa come what may. In a meeting with All FATA Students Organisation in Peshawar, the governor said legislation will be made through the Parliament to bring the tribal areas into the national mainstream.
He said work on rehabilitation and development of the temporarily displaced persons is also continuing after their return to FATA. He said the government is also giving special importance to promotion of education in FATA. Jhagra said FATA University has been made functional and 400 acres land has also been acquired for its building. He said work on establishment of cadet colleges in every tribal agency has also been started. He said the construction of Cadet College building in Razmak, South Waziristan, has also been included in the plan.
