Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain visited the Frontier Foundation here on Tuesday. The Vice chancellor met Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem, Chief Executive Officer and greeted the Thalessemia patients. The Director Clubs, Dr Samad Baseer also accompanied the Vice Chancellor. The visit was arranged by Director Media, Dr Shamaila Farooq as part of its community outreach program.
Sahibzada Haleem on the occasion said, the Frontier Foundation, established in 2003 in Peshawar, was the largest hematological services provider in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, providing free of charge treatment to poor and needy patients.
It is aimed to provide free of charge blood and blood components to the patients suffering from various chronic blood disorders (Thalassemia & Hemophilia) requiring blood/ blood components therapy as an essential part of their treatment. With the passage of time, the organization has grown in stature to a higher level with the opening of treatment centers in Kohat and Swat in addition to Peshawar center.
While visiting the facility, the Vice Chancellor met with technical team and doctors. He appreciated the humanitarian services of Frontier Foundation and assured his support to provide free camp services and holding free seminar for creating awareness on prevention from Thalessemia and Hemophilia, the fatal life conditions which affect quality of life.
