MWM demands safe, early recovery of Nasir Shirazi

Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) has condemned the kidnapping of the organization Deputy Secretary General Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi Advocate and demanded of the government for his immediate safe and early recovery. Speaking a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Friday, the MWM provincial secretary, Allama Mohammad Iqbal Bahishti said that the armed cops of Punjab elite force in plainclothes kidnapped Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen deputy secretary general, Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, in Lahore a two day ago. He said Nasir Shirazi was accompanied by his family members when a double cabin vehicle stormed into the Wapda Town commercial area. They first blocked their way and the cops whisked him away to their vehicle and left the scene, he said.
The MWM provincial chief accused Punjab government of abducting Nasir Shirazi and condemned his undeclared and illegal custody. He informed that Nasir Shirazi has filed a petition against Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over his malicious statement aimed at dividing judiciary on sectarian lines due to Justice Baqir Najafi inquiry report regarding Model Town massacre.
Bahishti said there was no criminal charges against Nasir Shirazi despite that he was picked up by elite force of Punjab. He said the abduction of Shirazi was illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic step, which strongly condemnable. He vowed that they will raise the issue at all forum to ensure safe and early recovery of the kidnapped MWM leader. MWM leader criticized the provincial government of Punjab for its failure to ensure protection of life and property of the masses. He said the police and law enforcement agencies have clueless whereabouts the abducted leader of MWM.
He demanded of the federal and Punjab governments to take prompt measures for immediate safe recovery of the MWM leader Nasir Shirazi, otherwise, they would strong protest against it.
Later, the activists of MWM held a protest demonstration outside Peshawar Press Club on Friday. They were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans against the abduction of Central Deputy Secretary General, Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi Advocate. They also chanted full-throated slogans against Punjab government and police, and called for immediate recovery of the kidnapped MWM leader.
