KWSB to help resolve KATI's water, sewerage- related issued: MD

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) is ready to solve sewerage problems, despite many financial issues. Acting Managing Director of KWSB Asadullah Khan expressed these views speaking at a meeting of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI).
"The board has prepared PC-I regarding repair work of pumping stations and construction of mains. It awaits approval of funds by Sindh government," he said. The MD agreed to form a committee, comprising of representatives of KATI and KWSB officials, to resolve billing complains. The KATI president Tariq Malik said that this meeting was a continuation of last meeting that was held last week between KATI and KWSB to review progress on water and sewerage issues.
He said there is a positive development regarding sewerage problems of sector 23 of Korangi Industrial Area (KIA). He praised the speedy sewerage-related work in the area. He expressed hope that sewerage-related problems in the entire locality would also be solved soon. Chairman and CEO KITE DMC Zubair Chhaya said that there is plenty of complains related to revenue department. He said that shortage of water has now become a challenge for industrial sector. He urged the board officials to take urgent notice of problems that were affecting industrial area, heavily. On this occasion, members of KATI also apprised Asadullah Khan of their problems. The KATI vice president Junaid Naqi, Akbar Farooqui and other members were also present.
