Due to the weather conditions (dense fog and smog) prevailing in the country, some PIA flights operating on Wednesday and Thursday were revised and few of them were cancelled. According to a PIA spokesman here on Tuesday, the foggy weather condition is expected to prevail for the next few days. Hence, the PIA has to adjust the timings of its flights due to such weather conditions as the airline cannot operate flights with poor visibility and also keeping in view the safety requirements. It results in either cancellation of the flights or flights operated with delays.
The following flights have been revised for today (November 8) due to weather conditions: PK650 and PK651 (Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore) will operate with a delay of two hours; PK304 and PK305 (Karachi-Lahore-Karachi) will be operated with a delay of 1 hour while PK307 (Lahore-Karachi) and PK312 (Karachi-Lahore) have been cancelled. Meanwhile, the following flights for Thursday (November 9) have also been revised due to expected adverse weather conditions. PK650 and PK651 (Lahore-Islamabad-Lahore) will operate with a delay of 2 hours whereas PK451 and PK452 (Islamabad-Skardu-Islamabad) will operate 2 hours early of scheduled time.
The flights that have been cancelled are: PK390 and PK391 (Karachi-Sukkur-Islamabad-Sukkur-Karachi), PK588 and PK589 (Karachi-Bahawalpur-Karachi), PK582 and PK583 (Karachi-RahimYar Khan-Karachi), PK651 and PK652 (Lahore-Bahawalpur-Lahore), PK584 and PK585 (Karachi-Dera Ghazi Khan-Karachi). He said the passengers are being informed by PIA Call Centre, however, the passengers can also confirm the revised timings of their flights before reaching the airports from PIA call centre. "The PIA regrets the inconvenience caused its passengers. Passengers are also requested to provide their contact numbers at the time of booking," he added.
