Attorney General for Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali Thursday gave an in-camera briefing to Senate over the case of Kulbhushan Jhadav pending before the International Court of Justice, The Hague. Earlier on October 11, Pakistan had designated former Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani to the International Court of Justice Hague to be its Judge in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case.
According to a press release of the ICJ, the President of the ICJ, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations has fixed time limits for the filing of the initial pleadings in the Jadhav case (India vs Pakistan). By an order of June 13, 2017, the President of the ICJ had fixed September 13, 2017 and December 13, 2017 as the respective time limits for the filing of a memorial by India and a counter-memorial by Pakistan.
The President made the order taking into account the views of the parties. The subsequent procedure has been reserved for further decision.
