Elections (Amendment) Act, 2017: opposition submits requisition for passage of amendment in NA

The opposition has submitted a requisition in the National Assembly Secretariat to call the session of the Lower House of the Parliament. The opposition submitted the requisition in the National Assembly Secretariat on Thursday with the signatures of 106 opposition members of the House. The requisition has been submitted for passage of amendment in clause 203 of 'The Elections (Amendment) Act, 2017'. The Senate already has passed the amendment in clause 203 of the bill to impose ban on a disqualified person to take part in the political activities.
The members of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Awami National Party (ANP), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Awami Muslim League and Awami Jamhuri Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP) signed the requisition. The requisition was submitted by PPP's Parliamentary Leader Syed Naveed Qamar in the National Assembly Secretariat.
