Participants at tribal Jirga have demanded the abolishment of Frontier Crime Regulations (FCR) Act from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and to merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without further delay.
The tribal Jirga was held on Saturday at Jamrud Sports Complex in Khyber tribal Agency, under the auspices of Member Parliament from NA-45, Al-Hajj Shahjee Gul Afridi which was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ameer Jamaiat Ullema-e-Islam, Samiul- Haq group Maulana Yousaf Shah, Member National Assembly (MNA) Haji Nazir Khan, former FATA Senator Abdur Rahman Faqir, President FATA Students Organization Shaukat Aziz, local political and students leaders, political workers, elders and large number of members of civic society.
Addressing on the occasion MNA Shahjee Gul Afridi said that time arrived to bring the tribal belt in the mainstream by eliminating century old draconian FCR from FATA and merge it into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He maintained that the tribesmen rejected the FCR Act and wanted to be ruled by the law imposed in other parts of the country.
Shahjee Gul Afridi said that FCR was the core cause of backwardness of the tribal and abolishing of the black would remove sense of deprivation among the tribesmen.
