Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the armed forces, the security institutions and the masses had offered unparalleled sacrifices against terrorism and now it was the turn of the politicians to prove their merit in overcoming the political crisis in the country. He was addressing a lawyers' delegation at Mansoora on Thursday.
The JI Secretary General said that the path of clash with the state institutions would be harmful for everybody. Besides, he said that a campaign against the judiciary and the armed forces in a bid to protect ones corruption and mismanagement was not the right approach. He said that constitution, democratic system and the electoral process could be protected through a democratic approach, honesty and competence. He said that the Sharif family had failed to prove their innocence at the judicial forum through arguments. Liaqat Baloch also attended a dinner hosted in honour of US returned Pakistani Surgeon Saeed Ahmed Bajwa.
The surgeon told the gathering that the Pakistanis abroad demand the right to vote in the General elections. He further said that the tales of corruption in the country is a source of shame and embarrassment for the overseas Pakistanis.
