Pesco employees take oath for correct meter reading

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), Engineer Shabir Ahmad took oath from Pesco's employees that they will take correct meter reading and will not record wrong reading. Employees of Peshawar Circle, Khyber Circle and Mardan Circle, Provincial Chairman of Hydro Union, Haji Muhammad Iqbal Khan, meter reading supervisors, meter readers attended the ceremony.
The CEO said that Pesco is shifting all its manual process to automation and for this purpose 110 sub-divisions billing have been shifted on mobile meters for billing accuracy and customer satisfaction. So far Pesco has reached its accuracy around 85%. Pesco has installed over 12000 AMR meters on high end customers above 20KW for real time billing.
Online new connections forms have already been introduced on Pesco website. Similarly, online metering application form is available on Pesco website to facilitate the consumers who are interested in energy selling produced by solar or any other means.
The company is also collecting customers contact numbers for sharing SMS information regarding billing or any other information and has increased its networking connectivity to 76 accounting / field offices for better flow of information and official correspondence.
Later, the CEO briefed media persons about the developmental activities and said that Pesco's performance has been increased. Photo meter reading has been reached up to 84% and important steps have been taken to curb the electricity theft.
