The loadshedding in the country will come to an end very soon as the electricity crisis has been overcome to a great extent. This was stated by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi when the Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, called on him at the Governor House here on Sunday. The Prime Minister arrived here on a two-day visit to the metropolis.
The prevailing situation in the province, law and order, progress of the on-going development projects being carried out with the assistance of the federal government, and matters pertaining to economy and trade also came up for discussion at the meeting held at the Governor House here, a Governor House statement said. The Prime Minister said that the federal government has embarked upon the vision of uniform development all over the country. In this regard the participation of more and more people is being ensured as it is basic right of the people to get quality facilities.
He stated that Karachi is the jugular vein of the country and that its development, progress and prosperity have an impact all over the country. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi pointed out that every possible step is being taken for a lasting peace in Karachi. He pointed out that Pakistan Army, Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies as well as the people rendered immense sacrifices for the maintenance of law and order and that these would not be allowed to go in vain.
The Prime Minister said that when the present government came to power it faced two main challenges- the deteriorated law and order and serious electricity crisis. He stated that the government with the cooperation of the people, restored law and order all over the country including the province of Sindh. The electricity crisis has also been overcome to a great extent and loadshedding in the country will very soon come to an end. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that after maintenance of law and order, the focus is on development works.
The Prime Minister said that for the progress and prosperity of the province, the federal government would continue its cooperation. The Governor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, said on the occasion that with the restoration of law and order, the economic, industrial, social and cultural activities in the province are on the increase.
He informed that for the progress and development of the province, the process of consultation with political and religious organizations, industrialists, traders, businessmen and other stakeholders is continuing. `Everyone desires development and prosperity of the province', Muhammad Zubair added. He said that the completion of on-going development projects with the assistance of the federal government, would help raise the standard of living of the people. The Governor further stated that the Karachi Development Package would help resolve the problems of the people.
He said that the people very much appreciate the Karachi Development Package and federally-assisted development projects. Zubair said that economic policies of the government of Pakistan are benefitting the province of Sindh more. He also spoke of the significance of the assistance of the federal government for the on-going projects in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Thatta and Tando Muhammad Khan.
