Activities at Karachi & Qasim Ports

The Karachi Port handled 350,290 tonnes of cargo comprising 286,082 tonnes of import cargo and 64,208 tonnes of export cargo including 7,741 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 286,082 tonnes comprised of 113,812 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,450 tonnes of general cargo; 75,066 tonnes of bulk cargo: 39,423 tonnes of coal; 15,100 tonnes of rock phosphate; 20,543 tonnes of fertilizer and 83,754 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 64,208 tonnes comprised of 61,656 tonnes of containerised cargo; 452 tonnes of general cargo and 2,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,741 containers comprising of 3,731 containers import and 4,010 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,398 of 20's and 1,087 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 79 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 608 of 20's and 405 of 40's loaded containers while 416 of 20's and 1,088 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Ever Unique, AL Abdali, Zante, CMA CGM Puget, Luebeck, Prosper, APL Antwerp, Virgo, SC Shenzhen, Scirocco, Chemical Aquarius and Navig8 Honor carrying containers, oil tankers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were fourteen vessels viz. Express Kailash, Hyundai Courage, Ever Unique, CMA CGM Puget, Prosper, Virgo, Wan Hai-503, E Trader, Chemical Aquarius, Gennaro Ievoli, MT Quetta, Thor Friendship, CS Flourish and Kong Que Zuo carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were seven ships namely Express Kailash, Hyundai Courage, Wan Hai-503, Ever Unique, Gennaro Ievoli, Nave Atropos and Bulk Pegasus carrying containers, oil tankers and coal sailed out to sea on Monday, while another ship namely MT Quetta carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were ten vessels Wide India, Kota Kasturi, Sima Genesis, Northern Javelin, MT Karachi, Azalea Galaxy, Victoria Harbour, Tokomaru Bay, Sea Lion and Frontier Ace carrying containers, oil tankers, DAP and vehicle respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz. YM Orchid, Nave Cassiopeia, Rising Falcon, Le Man Express and Positive Brave carrying containers, oil tankers, rock phosphate and vehicle respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

A cargo volume of 126,300 tonnes comprising 94,798 tonnes of import cargo and 31,502 tonnes of export cargo including 2,393 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 94,798 tonnes includes 41,000 tonnes of LNG; 1,215 tonnes of LPG; 8,500 tonnes of palm oil; 30,118 tonnes of coal and 13,965 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,502 tonnes includes 31,502 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,393 containers comprising of 735 containers import and 1,658 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely CV APL Norway and MT Bunga Angsana carrying containers and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely CV GH Chinook and MV Thetis carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV GH Chinook, CV APL Norway, CV APL Huwalla, MV Trade Will, MV Majestic Sky, MV Magia, MV Thetis, MT BW Integrity, MT Caspian Gas and MT Bunga Angsana currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, sunflower seeds, soyabean seeds, coal, LNG, LPG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as fifteen ships namely CV ER Felix Stowe, CV MSC Vittoria, CV APL Antwerp, MV Medi Chiba, MV Sakzaya Miracle, MV Diyaa-B, MV Laganda, MV Klima, MV Yasa Aysen, MT Sea Speed, MT Lion-M, MT New Century, MT Mezaira, MT Yukon Star and MT Ensemie carrying containers, soyabean seeds, canola seeds, cement, coal, clinker, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. ER Felix Stowe, CV MSC Vittoria, CV Express Makalu, MT Mezaira and MT Yukon Star carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There were four ships namely CV ER Felix Stowe, CV MSC Vittoria, CV Express Kailash and CV MSC Virgo carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are three ships namely CV MSC Tomoko, CV APL Antwerp and CV Maersk Pittsburg carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
