Peace Education and Development (PEAD) foundation in collaboration with USAID Small Grant organized Inter-schools Declamation contest of Urdu under the "Learn to Read" project, which aimed at fostering self-confidence in girl students by providing them an opportunity to enhance their reading skills.
The event was held here at Peshawar and participated by Professor Dr Sadia Khalil of Jinnah College for Woman University of Peshawar, Assistant Professor Antol Zia of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Farasat Principal Government Girls High School, Sher Zarin representative USAID Small Grant, representatives of PEAD foundation, teachers and students.
Gul Bahar Haseeba D/o Muhammad Yousaf of Government Girls Middle School secured first position and Hajira of Government Girls Middle School Cantt No.3 secured 2nd position while Sumaya of Government Girls Middle School Peshawar Cantt No 1 secured 3rd position in the contest.
While talking to media, representative of USAID Small Grant, Sher Zarin, said that through this project, USAID intends to help improve the learning and reading ability of the students and they are providing training to 1200 middle and high school girls students of Peshawar.
