HRW wheat bids steady

28 Nov, 2017

Hard red winter (HRW) wheat spot basis bids on Friday were steady in the southern US Plains, despite futures' retreat during the shortened US Thanksgiving holiday trading session, dealers said. Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) grains on Friday will close early at 12:05 pm CST (1805 GMT). CBOT K.C. December HRW wheat at 11:36 am CST (1736 GMT) was down 10 cents at $4.11 a bushel, partly due to weaker corn and soybean futures, along with disappointing export data.
On Friday, the US Department of Agriculture reported export sales of US wheat in the latest week at 200,600 tonnes (old and new crop years combined). That came in short of trade forecasts for 350,000 to 550,000 tonnes.
