Punjab Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir has said that government is taking special measures to reduce the patients' load in the hospitals and promoting a healthy society by creating awareness regarding the health issues among the people. He stated this while talking to the media persons after inaugurating a two-day blood screening and counseling camp at Abdul Razzaq Stadium Shahdara, here on Friday.
Member National Assembly Malik Riaz, Additional Secretary (Admin) Dr Farrukh Manzoor, CEO Health Lahore Dr Yadullah, officers of the Health department, workers of PML-N and a large number of residents of Shahdara were also present on the occasion. Nazir said that prevention of diseases is the priority of the government and Primary & Secondary Health department is especially focusing on preventive programmes and holding of district health conventions across the province are one of the steps taken by the government. He added that consolidated blood screening camps are being set up in all the districts for the screening of the people against nine different diseases and counseling of the people regarding health issues.
Kh Imran Nazir was of the view that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is taking a keen interest in health sector developments with a view to providing best quality health services to the people of Punjab. On the directions of the CM, health conventions are being held across the province.
He further said that bifurcation of Health department into two separate tiers has been very helpful in giving particular attention to the preventive programme which is very useful in the prevention of different diseases.
