11 Dec, 2017

China has assured all possible cooperation regarding earliest completion of the delayed orange line metro train (OLMT) service and congratulated Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for obtaining permission (from Supreme Court) to continue this great public welfare project.
A high-level Chinese delegation led by Minister of Communist Party Wang Yajun, called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday and discussed bilateral relations, progress of CPEC projects and strengthening of associations between Communist Party of China and PML (N).
The Chinese Minister said we will try our best to complete OLMT project as soon as possible so that the public may have access to the standard travelling facilities. He guaranteed that China will continue to cooperate in the development voyage of Pakistan.
He said CPEC has further strengthened friendship between Pakistan and China. Shahbaz Sharif has worked hard to complete the energy projects in a short span of time, benefit of which is reaching to the common people as load shedding is over in Pakistan.
He said CPEC is a flagship programme of Belt and Road project which has led to a new era of construction and development in Pakistan also. China will always go along with Pakistan in this journey of progress and prosperity. Some of the countries are opposing CPEC but it will be of no use for them and in fact they are losing their opportunities of progress.
He said Shahbaz Sharif has taken concrete and striking measures for the economic and social development of the province. Punjab Speed is the other name of Shehbaz Sharif. Due to his personal interest many Chinese companies are working in Pakistan while a few of them have invested in various projects of Punjab as we highly regard his dynamic leadership.
He said Communist Party of China specifies its relationship with the Muslim League (N) and further steps will be taken to reinforce relations between the two parties. Responding to the Chinese Communist Party Minister's statement, Shahbaz Sharif said CPEC has further boosted Pak-China Friendship and bilateral relations due to which Pakistan is moving forward on the path of development and prosperity.
The present government has ended load shedding by completing the energy and other development projects within stipulated time. The Punjab government has set an international record by completing energy projects in shortest time. The foundation stone of 1263 MW of Punjab Gas Power Plant was laid yesterday at Jhang and this project will also be completed in the record period.
He said due to CPEC Pakistan is making rapid progress although some elements are upset over it. OLMT Lahore is a gift of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Le Chi Chaing. He said he is grateful for cooperation of China's President, Axim Bank of China and NDRC who expressed confidence in Punjab government and continued to support the project despite some hurdles.
Chinese delegation included senior officials of Communist Party of China and Chinese Consul General Long Ding bin. Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Rana Mashhood Ahmed, Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Senior Leader PML (N) Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning and Development, Lord Mayor Lahore and concerned officials were also present on this occasion.
