The Lahore High Court on Tuesday summoned Director General Lahore Development Authority today for not submitting replies in hundreds of petitions lying pending against the authority regarding different matters. Azhar Majeed, Khurram Ameen, Asim Qureshi, Ghulam Rasool and many others had moved the petitions.
Earlier the counsel of the Lahore Development Authority submitted his power of attorney and sought time for preparation of the cases. He said earlier Salman Mansoor had been representing the authority but now he had been asked for these cases. At this, the court remarked that LDA, wasting public time and money as its lawyers don't bother to appear.
The court expressed dismay when LDA counsel pleaded that there might be any mistake by the office and observed, "it is not your problem now the court will resolve this issue". Also, the court took notice of the lethargic attitude of the Federal Board of Revenue FBR and observed that "the same is the practice of the FBR".
