More rain-thunderstorm forecast over mountainous region

More scattered rain-thunderstorm and snowfall over the mountainous region with a hailstorm are expected in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Tuesday. Temperature fall sustains in Kalat to minus degrees Celsius, Quetta minus 7 and Dalbandin minus 05. While, snowfall covered Malamjabba to 8 inches, Kalam 7, Murree 6, Saidu Sharif 3, Astore 2 and Skardu 1 in the last 24 hours.
Scattered rain-thunderstorm and snowfall gripped parts of Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan over the past. "A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and may persist till Wednesday," the Met said. Scattered rain and snow are expected to continue in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan and Kohat Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sargodha Divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog is likely to cover plains Punjab and Upper Sindh during night and morning hours. Cold and dry weather will prevail in Sindh and Balochistan.
The capital city - Islamabad received maximum rainfall in Saidpur 50mm, Zero Point 28mm, Golra 26 mm and Bokra 21mm. Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 41mm, Chaklala 21 mm) Murree 37mm, Sialkot Cantt 17mm, Mangla and Jhelum 10 mm, each. Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin 9mm, Lahore (Airport 8mm, City 7mm) Gujranwala, Shorkot 6mm, Joharabad 5mm, Okara 4mm, Sargodha (City 3mm, PAF 1mm) and Kasur 2mm. Kashmir: Muzaffarabad 37mm, Rawalakot 29mm, Garidupatta 24mm, and Kotli 19mm.
Khyber Pukhtunkhwa: Lower Dir 32mm, Dir 30mm, Mirkhani 29mm, Pattan 26mm, Risalpur 25mm, Kakul and Drosh 21mm, each, Cherat and Balakot 20mm, Chitral 16mm, Saidu Sharif 15mm, Kalam and Malamjabba 13mm, each, Peshawar (Airport 12mm, City 6mm) and Kohat 6 mm, FATA: Parachinar 8mm. Gilgit-Baltistan: Skardu 4mm, Chillas 2mm, Gupis and Bunji 1mm each.
