Sialkot police have badly failed to control traffic in the city and other highly busy junctions as a result of which there is total traffic chaos in Sialkot due to which road accidents and traffic jams had become a daily routine. Local traffic police and traffic wardens despite controlling the traffic was busy in money making and had provided a free hand to the bus and wagon drivers for picking the passengers.
The wrong parking of private vehicles, rickshaws and wagons on busy roads was creating hurdles in smooth flow of traffic on busiest roads in the city. It is due to the lack of management by traffic police that roads remain blocked in the presence of police. The police had bowed the knees in front of transporters as a result of which coaches, buses and wagons plying on different routes blocked roads just for picking or dropping the passengers during peak hours.
It was very unfortunate that traffic jams Anwar Club road, Kutchary road, Pul Aik area, Abbot road, Paris road, "Lorry- Adda and Kashmir road where traffic remains stuck up for a long time during peak hours but there as result of ambulances blocked in due heavy traffic as well as pedestrian and general public confronting with serious problems. It has been observed that buses of a private college parked on both sides of Anwar Club Road that hinder the smooth flow of traffic.
There are many so-called "One Ways" exist in most busy roads of the city but it is very unfortunate that police itself is violating one-way traffic rules. Socio-political circles have appealed to high-ups of traffic police to take immediate steps for removing the illegal rickshaw stands from Chowk Allama Iqbal, lorry Adda, Kashmir road, jail road and special attention should also be focused on clearing the lorry Adda and Kashmir Road from illegal parking of rickshaw and wagons stands for ensuring smooth flow of traffic.
These circles urged upon the district administration that colleges and schools functioning on busy roads should be shifted outside the city for reducing the pressure of traffic on most busy roads of the city.
