Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that unity of people and their constructive and fruitful contributions for the country's integrity, security, development and prosperity is the befitting tribute to founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
"I take this opportunity to stress my countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to maintain unflinching unity in their ranks and make more productive, constructive and fruitful contributions for ensuring overall national integrity, security, development and prosperity," he said in his message on the eve of birth anniversary of father of the nation.
Jhagra said that 25th of December is remembered a historic day by Pakistanis because on this day, "our beloved leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born in 1876." He said that his selfless struggle in getting people free from the clutches of alien rule and suppression, Jinnah was called Quaid-e-Azam or the great leader. He said entire history of the Independence Movement under the wise leadership of Quaid-e-Azam was a rich treasure because of his decisive leadership and experiences. "The pleasant memories of accomplishments of the post-independence era are indeed a great source of strength and satisfaction for us," he said, adding that his golden ideals: 'Unity, Faith and Discipline,' came from the core aspects of his efforts in bringing the Muslims of subcontinent under one banner to achieve independence and it would always remain a beacon of light for us in realizing the dream for which Pakistan was established.
"We have achieved many milestones in different spheres of life during our short history. However, concerted efforts are needed for further strengthening of our position in the comity of nations as per the aspirations of the heroes of Independence Movement," he said.
