Lesco CEO pledges 20 grid stations before next summer

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LESCO Syed Wajid Ali Kazmi has said that the Company will put in place 20 grid stations throughout the region before next summer. He said the Company has added 14 grid stations to the system till date. "New 500 Kv grid stations have been commissioned under the plan," he added.
He said the LESCO had amicably resolved dispute at the installation of five grid stations. Meanwhile, he also pointed out that the LESCO has cleared 300 kilometres transmission lines. He said cleaning of transmission lines is also underway to do away with the impact of smog on the transmission system.
According to him, the power supply situation has improved heavily with addition of new power generation plants to the system. He said the consumers are up in arms during the Ramadan of last year but no such protests were witnessed this year.
He said the government has transferred amount for electrification of 464 villages and huge efforts are being made to electrify these rural areas. He said the progress is being monitored on weekly basis, as the Company is facing pressure from the public representatives for early electrification of villages.
