Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto said that his mother, Benazir Bhutto, was punished for raising voice against terrorism and in defence of democracy, "She was also punished for raising voice for the rights of the poor, oppressed, against the terrorism and terming minorities equal citizens," Bilawal said while addressing enthusiastic hundreds of thousands workers and supporters in Garhi Khuda Baksh.
"Oh my leader! today the world is burning in fire of terrorism and our eastern and western frontiers are insecure as Pakistan is remembering you in such a grave situation when country has been engulfed in terrorism, Bilawal said while remembering her mother.
"Oh my leader the rulers have damaged the sanctity of parliament and democracy, the country has been trapped in heavy burden of debts, peasants and labourers are being economically murdered, schools and prayer places have also become insecure," Bilawal continue, "The rulers who were blaming other for corruption they themselves exposes as big thief."
"Oh my great leader I ensure you we will revive the lost respect of democracy and will strengthen it I also promise that I will bring the caravans of victory to Garhi Khuda Bux from across the Pakistan after the next election."
He said that Benazir struggled for three decades for the sake of democracy, and they restored democracy for which she fought for and even gave her life for it. "The world is burning with terrorism and our rulers are silent." He decried that the nation has a prime minister who is claiming that he is not the real premier. "Just imagine the mockery that we have a prime minister present who says that he is not the prime minister."
He alleged that there is a conspiracy to weaken the independence of institutions. He further decried that there was no justice in the country, while those tasked to tackle corruption were themselves involved in massive corruption. He pleaded to the givers of justice that they should also be given justice for Benazir's murder. "It has been ten years and we still have not received justice," he said.
