NAB approves inquiries against NWA surgeon, EZDMC officers

The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held under the chairmanship of Brigadier Farooq Naser Awan (retd), Director General NAB (KP) at Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Directors, Additional Directors, Case Officers, Senior Legal Consultants and other concerned officers. Several important decisions were taken in the meeting.
The board authorized an inquiry against the North Waziristan Agency surgeon, regarding corruption and corrupt practices. He is allegedly involved in embezzlement of funds allocated for purchase of medicines worth Rs 22.17 million. Second inquiry was authorized Officers / Officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KPEZDMC) for corrupt practices and misuse of authority.
The subjects are alleged to be involved in non-compliance with Public Sector Companies (Corporate Governance) Rules, 2013. They are further alleged misappropriation of public money through lavish expenditures, misuse of authority in illegal appointments and tempering tenders against KPPRA Rules. The third inquiry was authorized against officers / officials of FATA Secretariat / FATA Development Authority (FDA) regarding corruption and corruption practice and misuse of authority.
