People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has slammed Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas for using animals in their wedding held in Jodhpur last weekend.
“Priyanka has been ill served by not being advised of the firestorm that would be caused by participating in animal abuse," PETA India CEO Manilal Valliyate said in a statement Monday. “It doesn’t make a person look big or glamorous to promote cruelty to animals who have no choice but to serve. It makes them look small,” the CEO added, Indian media reported.
As per media reports, groom Nick entered the wedding venue atop a horse and the couple later took a tour of the Umaid Bhawan Palace while seated on an elephant.
“Dear Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Elephants for weddings live in chains and horses are controlled with whips, spiked bits,” PETA wrote on their Twitter handle. “People are rejecting elephant rides and having horse-free weddings. Congrats, but we regret it was not a happy day for animals.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka was also criticised for the fireworks that went off at her wedding. Interestingly, a few weeks ago at Diwali PeeCee had requested fans to not use firecrackers for the celebrations to reduce air pollution that is harmful for asthma patients like her. However, later on at her wedding, a massive display of fireworks was done.
