The Lahore High Court on Monday issued notices to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for January 11 in a petition a consumer Allah Wasaya challenging recent increase in gas tariff. The petitioner said that under the law OGRA was bound to consult the federal government for any increase in gas tariff but it was not done.
Thus, the increase in tariff has lost its legitimacy and required to be set aside, he added. He asked the court to declare the new increase in tariff as null and void. The court after hearing initial arguments issued notice to OGRA and others.
