Uzma Masood's book launched at National Book Foundation

A launching ceremony of book "Dawa-i-Dil" by Uzma Masood, a fiction writer and author of three books was held at National Book Foundation (NBF). The ceremony was presided over by famous poet Iftkhar Arif whereas MD NBF Dr Inamul Haq Javeid and author of book Uzma Masood were special guest and the guest of honour respectively. The ceremony was compeered by columnist and poetess Aisha Masood. Farida Hafeez, Afshan Abbasi and Abida Taqi also spoke about the book and author.
"The pen men of present era are fulfilling their literary duties very well and they have left no stone unturned to promote awareness to the young generation" said Iftikhar Arif while addressing the participants of ceremony. He congratulated Uzma Masood and expressed that she has written short stories successfully. He also spoke about "Literature of obvious" and quoted examples of Abul Fazal Siddiqui, Nayyar Masood, Mumtaz Masood, Shamsur Rahman Farooqi, Intizar Hussain, Mumtaz Mufti, Mansha Yad and many other fiction writers. He said that Uzma Masood penned down whatever she observed and felt. MD NBF Dr Inamul Haq Javeid said that the short stories by Uzma Masood contain social issues and dramatic factors and impress the readers. The other senior speakers gave some valuable suggestion to the author. Uzma Masood the author thanked all the speakers and said it was great honour for her that renowned intellectuals and writers appreciated her work. A large number of writers, students, journalists and book lovers attended the function.-PR
