Pesco chief urges officers to reduce line losses

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) Engineer Shabir Ahmad has expressed annoyance over the poor performance of some sub-divisions as line losses have been increased while recovery decreased. He was addressing Pesco officers at Abbottabad. All Chief Engineers, Superintendent Engineers and field Officers were present on this occasion.
He warned the officers that this trend is absolutely unacceptable and if they are unable to reduce line losses and enhance recovery then they will face the music and the responsible will have to face the consequences. The CEO further said that the joint teams of the Ministry for Energy and Pepco are monitoring the discos efficiency critically and every point is being questioned.
Keeping in view, the analyses of these monitoring teams, the officers showing poor performance will not be tolerated and there is no place for them in Pesco. He warned 3 SEs,8 XENs and 40 SDOs for their poor performance and said that this is last chance for them, either improve your performance or be ready for suspension.
Minister of State for Energy will analyze the performance of circles, divisions and sub-divisions during his next visit and important decisions will be taken during his next visit. The Chief Executive directed the field officers to improve their performance, visit the field and resolve the public grievances. He also directed the field officers for holding Khuli Kachehries at circle, division and sub-divisional levels on monthly basis to solve the consumers' complaints on their door steps.
He also directed them for seeking the co-operation of the public representatives, Nazims and councillors during Khuli Kachehries. He directed the field officers to replace defective or burnt distributions transformers and meters immediately. Implement 100% photo meter reading so that consumers' receive correct electricity bills and overbilling complaints are resolved.
