Call to form JIT to probe Naqeebullah's killing

Condemning the cold-blooded murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud in a alleged police encounter by Sindh Police, the Provincial Chairman of Watan Pal Youth Organization, affiliated with Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Irshad Afridi has demanded of the government to constitute a joint investigation team under supervision of senior judge of Supreme Court to probe into the brutal killing of the tribal youth.
He was addressing at a press conference at press Club here on Saturday. The party youth leader expressed great resentment over branding Pashtuns as terrorists in the country and urged the provinces to shun their discriminatory attitude with them and to take steps for forging unity among all federating units.
Moreover he lauded the Supreme Court for taking suo-moto notice in the case. He appealed the apex court and the federal government to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to take the case to its logical conclusion. He expressed the hope that culprits will be brought to justice sooner. He further demanded that a judicial commission should be constituted in order to probe the extra-judicial murder of Naqeeb Mehsud and the findings of the case should be made public.
Afridi said that Pashtuns are peace loving people and their sacrifices in war against terrorism and military operations within Pakistan speaks volumes about their loyalty with Pakistan. He voiced strong concerns over the plight of smaller provinces in the country and paid rich tribute to Pashtuns for rendering innumerable sacrifices in the freedom movement and the war against terrorism.
The youth leader said the tribesmen are living in settled areas of Pakistan as IDPs and were rendered homeless in the wake of military operations in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He urged the government that a compensation package should be announced for the poor family of Naqeeb Mehsud and the culprits should be given exemplary punishment.
