Joint opposition under Qadri not an alliance: Kaira

24 Jan, 2018

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Tuesday that the joint opposition under Dr Tahirul Qadri was not a political alliance. "The PPP joined it to support the cause of Dr Qadri, seeking justice for the martyrs of Model Town," he added. Addressing a press conference at the PPP Punjab Secretariat, after presiding over a party meeting to finalize February 5 public rally of his party at Mochi Gate to mark the Kashmir Day, he said. The PPP would not hesitate in meeting Dr Qadri and Imran Khan under the same arrangements to seek justice.
He demanded formulation of a commission to evaluate the claim of ending loadshedding by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. "Shahbaz Sharif is falsifying that the problem of loadshedding is over. I am ready to change my name if the Commission declares the country free of loadshedding," he stressed. He said the Chief Minister Punjab has criticised NAB only when he was summoned by it for investigation. The Sharif brothers prefer a justice of their own choice, otherwise they lambast the courts," he added. On the arrest of the murderer of 8-year-old Zainab in Kasur, he criticised the Punjab government for a delayed response, saying that a timely action in January 2017, when first-ever murder occurred, could have saved the life of innocent Zainab.
