Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Nehal Hashmi placed himself at mercy of the Supreme Court and tendered an unconditional apology on Wednesday in a contempt matter after which the court reserved its verdict in the case. Senator Nehal Hashmi submitted an apology for hurling threats at the judges who had formed a Joint Investigation Team to probe into the Panama Papers case against former premier Nawaz Sharif and his family, while addressing a public gathering.
While hearing another contempt plea, a three-member bench led by Justice Sardar Asif Saeed Khan Khosa issued show-cause notices to reporter and editor-in-chief of an English-language daily. The bench said the respondents may submit their replies within two weeks and directed them to appear in person before the court on the next date of hearing.
