Pakistan's import bill for pulses slumped to $269.929 million in July-December 2017, down by 27.28 per cent, official figures say. Decline in pulses import stands at $101.248 million in July-December 2017 from $371.177 million in July-December 2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. Import volume of pulses scaled back to 298,872 metric tons in July-December 2017 from 432,751 metric tons in July-December 2016, down by 31 percent or 133,879 metric tons.
Pulses import plunged by 33 percent or $27.044 million to $55.604 million in December 2017 from $82.648 million in December 2016. In term of quantity, import of pulses dropped to 81,158 metric tons in December 2017 from 101,480 metric tons in December 2016, lower by 40 percent or 20,322 metric tons, according to the figures.
